Tonia Leon, a bilingual poet, translator, and essayist has written poetry since she was a child. Among her favorite topics are: trees, Mexico, social justice and humanity’s dreams. Her chap books are My Beloved Chaos (2013) and Slow-Cooked Poetry/Poesía a fuego lento (2017 ) as well as a translation of poetry of Jose de la Rosa: Hurgando en el azul/Hovering above the Blue (2021). Her works have been published in journals, newspapers and anthologies in the USA, Colombia and Japan. She currently resides next to an educational ecological center in Veracruz, Mexico where she has a small organic garden and orchard.
